LED LIGHT THERAPY

OMNILUXTM

*Omnilux™ is among the LED phototherapy systems available for aesthetic use.

Light-emitting diode (LED)-based devices are a well-established option with a strong safety profile for managing conditions such as skin inflammation (e.g., acne), signs of ageing, and hair growth disorders.

LED light therapy uses clinically proven wavelengths of monochromatic light to stimulate specific cellular responses, which help reduce acne lesions, wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, and general skin dyschromia. Omnilux™ phototherapy has been shown to enhance blood flow and improve the penetration and efficacy of topical skincare products.

Omnilux™ is a well-established LED phototherapy system, with applications in medical and aesthetic settings since 2003. As an early developer of non-invasive LED technology, it is supported by more than 30 peer-reviewed studies that validate its clinical efficacy and treatment protocols. Omnilux™ has received FDA approval for more indications than other LED therapy brands and is compliant with global regulatory standards, including those of the US FDA, Medical CE, Japanese MHLW, Korean MFDS, China NMPA (formerly CFDA), Australian TGA, and others.

MECHANISM

Omnilux™ treatment heads (Revive™, Blue™, and Plus™) each utilise a specific single wavelength of LED light to deliver optimised light intensities. The high-density LED arrangement ensures consistent dosage delivery across the treatment area, reducing uneven coverage that can occur with alternative systems.

The dedicated wavelength treatment heads—red, blue, and infrared—provide targeted light energy for specific applications, allowing for customised treatments. This approach reduces both treatment duration and the number of sessions required.

Originally developed at the Paterson Institute for Cancer Research, Omnilux™ technology has been used in the treatment of thousands of non-melanoma skin cancers. Its optimised intensity and adjustable dosage function make it particularly effective for lesions in cosmetically sensitive or poorly healing areas. Compared to conventional treatments, it has demonstrated favourable outcomes with fewer adverse effects.

When used in combination with ALA-PDT (aminolevulinic acid photodynamic therapy), Omnilux™ has shown efficacy in treating:

  • Non-hyperkeratotic actinic keratoses (AKs) on the face, chest and scalp.
  • Bowen’s disease
  • Superficial Basal Cell Carcinomas (sBCCs)
