LASERS FOR PIGMENTATION & REJUVENATION

PICOWAY (SYNERON-CANDELA PICOSECOND 532/1064NM LASER)

Clear Solutions, Ground-breaking Technology.

PicoWayis a remarkable and innovative dual wavelength picosecond laser boasting non-fractional & fractional efficiency from Syneron Candela, a trusted name amongst aesthetic lasers.

Delivering laser light energy in one trillionth of a second, the PicoWay laser differs from the conventional nanosecond laser which only delivers light energy in one billionth of a second. PicoWay delivers high peak power with precise picosecond pulses that is incomparable with other picosecond devices available in Singapore.

The PicoWay system comprises of a unique mode of action by distributing ultra-short picosecond bursts of energy directly to the skin tissue. These pulses of energy then create a “photoacoustic” impact, breaking up the pigmentation into particles that can be easily eliminated naturally.

WHY PICOWAY?

  • High peak power with shortest pulse duration, allowing non-thermal, photoacoustic effect, transforming skin from the inside out.
  • Flexible treatment parameters, allowing dermatologists control of wavelength, fluence, repetition rate and spot size, for highly customisable treatments.
  • Skin treatment palette extends from lightest to darkest skin tones.
  • Ultra-short picosecond pulses that are 100 times shorter than Q-switch lasers minimise risk of side-effects such as hyperpigmentation and scarring. Perfectly suitable for darker skin tones.
  • 3 different wavelengths – 532nm, 785nm and 1064nm accord flexibility to treat any type or colour of tattoos. Helps removal of professional, amateur, traumatic, surgical and cosmetic tattoos. Safe method with less downtime compared to conventional lasers.
  • Minimal to no side-effects, including thermal damage that is considerably less. Requires fewer sessions than Q-switched technology.

PICOWAY IS ALSO EFFECTIVE IN TREATING EPIDERMAL AND DERMAL PIGMENTATION:

  • Epidermal pigmentation:
    • Solar lentigines
    • Freckles
    • Seborrheic keratoses
    • Café-au-lait macules
    • Nevus spilus
    • Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation

PicoWay ResolveTM

PICOWAY RESOLVE FRACTIONAL RESURFACING

PicoWay Resolve is an effective, non-invasive, non-surgical anti-aging device that uses short laser pulses to stimulate natural collagen production for a younger-looking skin. The laser beam in PicoWay Resolve uses the same beam-type in the PicoWay Zoom, but split into over 100 identical small beamlets. These beamlets reach below the skin’s surface in areas that are spaced evenly apart. As the laser is fast and powerful, this leads to a photoacoustic effect where tiny areas under the skin being vaporized with a non-thermal effect. Tiny open spaces are created under the skin which is then filled in over time with the growth of new collagen and elastin. The PicoWay Resolve truly works from inside out. The treatment does not cause the outer layers of skin to break, so patients can get back to their routine quicker.

WHY PICOWAY RESOLVETM ?

Designed for stellar results
  • The PicoWay ResolveTM Fractional Resurfacing utilises a picosecond holographic fractionator for the delivery of consistent and precise laser energy to the skin. There are two Resolve hand pieces, one with 532nm wavelength for shallow lesions and one with 1064nm wavelength for deeper lesions.
  • First and only laser with ground-breaking holographic fractional technology. Delivering predictable energy with uniform treatment.
  • Utilises picosecond pulses in which Laser Induced Cavitations (LICs) are formed in the dermis of the skin, whereas Laser Induced Optical Breakdown (LIOBs) is formed in the dermal-epidermal junction. LIC stimulates a healing response and skin remodelling, while LIOB produces more of an effect on pigmentation.
  • Picosecond pulses improve skin clarity, skin tone, pore size and texture with negligible downtime while rejuvenating skin. Post treatment transient redness is observed, which subsides quickly allowing patients to resume regular activities.
  • Enables the treatment of acne scars, offering improvement to skin tone, brightness, texture and wrinkles with visible results after one or two sessions.
PicoWay ResolveTM targets unwanted signs of aging and skin irregularities such as:
  • Scars
  • Wrinkles
  • Dark spots
  • Sun damage
  • Fine lines
  • Acne scars
  • Pigmented lesions
  • Stretch marks
Why patients love the PicoWay system:
  • Reduced acne scarring after just 3 sessions
  • High rates of improvement in wrinkle severity
  • A high rate of benign pigmented lesion clearance
  • Removal of multi-colored tattoos

PICOSURE (CYNOSURE PICOSECOND 755NM LASER)

Technology that is light-years ahead The world’s first picosecond aesthetic laser, PicoSure is an unparalleled breakthrough in laser technology. It distributes ultra-short pulses of energy to the skin in trillionths of a second. With a pulse width 100 times shorter than nanosecond technology, its photoacoustic impact allows for better, effective clearance in fewer treatments and less fluence. The ultra-short pulse duration goes beyond photothermal action, creating intense photoacoustic impact, the patented PressureWaveTM. This enables removal of dark, indelible blue and green inks, as well as previously treated recalcitrant tattoos with 755nm wavelength.

BOOST ADJUSTABLE PRESSURE

Boost amplifies PicoSurePressureWaveTM to levels never before possible, and magnifies pressure by 70% through shortening pulse widths from 750 to 550 picoseconds. This enables unprecedented treatment options, and is ideal for recalcitrant tattoos and allows for enhanced shattering of pigment for optimised results. PicoSure is the world’s first and only 755nm picosecond laser and is able to target both unwanted epidermal and dermal pigmentation such as:
  • Epidermal pigmentation:
    • Solar lentigines
    • Freckles

PicoSure FocusTM

The standard for skin revitalisation treatments
Picosecond technology combined with the powerful Focus Lens Array has shown marked skin revitalisation outcomes. The diffractive lens array hand piece is capable of delivering laser energy as apexes of high-fluence regions surrounding by low-fluence regions. Known as Focused Lens Array (FOCUSTM), it consists of over a hundred micro lenses per square centimetre which redistribute the picosecond pulse into highly concentrated beams surrounded by a lower fluence background. As a result of this hexagonal closely packed diffractive lens array, 70% of the total energy is delivered throughout the micro-spots whilst the remaining 30% results in a low-fluence background. This results in less than 10% of the tissue being exposed to ultra-high-fluence ensuring no thermal injury to surrounding tissue, no columns of tissue damage as with traditional fractional lasers, and importantly, minimal erythema for a truly no-downtime rejuvenation procedure.
  • PicoSure FOCUSTM Lens Array targets unwanted signs of aging and skin irregularities such as:
    • Scars
    • Wrinkles
    • Dark spots
    • Sun damage
    • Fine lines
    • Acne scars
    • Pigmented lesions
    • Stretch marks

FAQ

In general, pigmentation occurs when melanin (pigment cells) are concentrated in one area of the skin. Pigmented lesions can be further grouped into epidermal or dermal pigmentation depending on where they are located within the skin. Although the majority of pigmentation is caused by frequent and excessive sun exposure, some people are born with them (in the case of birthmarks) or have them as a result of hormonal changes during pregnancy. Regardless of the cause, proper diagnosis with an experienced dermatologist in Singapore is critical in successful pigmentation removal.
The magic behind pico lasers lies in their extremely fast speeds and ultra-short pulse duration, which translates to a higher peak power that doesn’t harm surrounding healthy tissues. Belonging in a special category of laser technology that works in one trillionth of a second, pico lasers can shatter pigmentation into smaller fragments that are then naturally removed by the body. This leads to more effective pigmentation removal in a shorter time with minimal downtime and side effects! With the help of different wavelengths and handpieces, pico lasers can target a multitude of skin issues ranging from fine lines and wrinkles, acne scars and tattoo removal to bring about a more healthy, youthful complexion.
