XERF RADIOFREQUENCY SKIN TIGHTENING IN SINGAPORE

How XERF Treatment Works

As skin ages, changes in collagen and the underlying connective tissue can lead to reduced firmness, fine lines and sagging. XERF is a non-invasive monopolar radiofrequency (RF) treatment designed to address skin laxity by delivering controlled heat beneath the skin’s surface.

The system uses two RF frequencies (6.78 MHz and 2 MHz) to target different tissue depths. This thermal energy encourages collagen contraction and supports collagen remodelling over time, helping improve skin firmness and the appearance of facial contours. Treatment is delivered through a handpiece placed against the skin, without needles or incisions.

Skin concerns addressed with XERF

XERF may be considered for facial fine lines and wrinkles, mild to moderate laxity of the face and neck, and early sagging around the jawline. Your dermatologist will assess your skin thickness, facial structure and degree of laxity to determine whether treatment is suitable.

XERF offers three adjustable depth modes, allowing treatment to be tailored to different areas:

  • Shallow mode: Targets dermal tissue in thinner areas, such as the forehead.
  • Middle mode: Addresses tissue at an intermediate depth in areas such as the cheeks and neck.
  • Deep mode: Uses both RF frequencies to reach deeper supporting tissue in areas such as the lower face.

Your dermatologist selects the treatment depth and energy settings according to your skin and the area being treated.

WAVE FIT™ PULSE TECHNOLOGY AND INTEGRATED COOLING

XERF's Wave Fit pulse technology delivers energy through a series of controlled pulses. Integrated Cryogen Delivery cooling helps protect the skin's surface, while real-time temperature monitoring supports controlled treatment delivery.

The treatment tip is designed to distribute RF energy evenly and reduce heat concentration at its edges. Together, these features help manage heat and discomfort during treatment.

Patients generally experience warmth, although sensations vary. Numbing cream is usually not required.

Potential benefits

  • Improved skin firmness
  • Reduced appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
  • Improvement in mild to moderate facial and neck laxity
  • Better definition around the lower face and jawline

What to Expect After Treatment

Results develop gradually as collagen remodels. Changes may become noticeable around one month after treatment, with further improvement possible over the following months, up to six months. The extent and duration of improvement vary between individuals.

Your dermatologist will advise on the number of sessions and treatment intervals based on your skin's response.

Temporary redness or swelling may occur although XERF radiofrequency treatment generally has minimal downtime. Other possible but uncommon risks include burns and blistering, although it is generally safe in specialist hands especially with the integrated cooling system. Your dermatologist will discuss these risks and provide aftercare instructions.

During your consultation, disclose any implanted medical devices, previous facial procedures, relevant medical conditions, and whether you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
